Continuing the policy-making path for maritime development and aiming to formulate strategies to strengthen regional and international economic interactions, the 5th “Iran Maritime Economy” Conference has been scheduled by the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association.
Building on the success of previous editions—especially the 4th conference focused on the North-South Corridor—this upcoming event is planned with a strategic outlook on Iran’s maritime and land connectivity capacities, aiming to foster a national dialogue on the maritime-based economy.
To set the direction and develop the content framework, the first consultative meeting for organizing the Iran Maritime Economy Conference was held at the Secretariat of the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association with the participation of experts and stakeholders from the field.
According to the public relations office of the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association, this meeting included representatives from various sectors such as port and maritime experts, university professors, economic analysts, a representative from the Executive Deputy of the President’s Office, and delegates from specialized associations and organizations. The discussion focused on key topics including the necessities, priorities, and proposed themes for the event.
Participants engaged in candid discussions emphasizing the importance of utilizing academic and research capacities, providing accurate data and practical analyses, and ensuring the actionable outcomes of the conference. Concerns from port and maritime industry actors were also raised as part of the real-world challenges during the session.
The Iran Maritime Economy Conference is scheduled to be held in Aban 1404 (October–November 2025) by the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association in collaboration with the Tin Media Group. The event aims to present a specialized, participatory, and solution-oriented approach to highlight the role of the maritime economy in Iran’s future national development.
