The First Vice President’s Urgent Order to Resolve Customs Issues Related to the Clearance of Temporary Import Permits for Containers in Response to the Letter from the Shipping Association.

According to SEA News, citing the Public Relations Department of the Iran Shipping Association and Related Services, following the official correspondence of the Iran Shipping Association with the Presidency regarding the request to prevent economic disruptions leading to cargo accumulation at the country’s ports, the First Vice President issued an order to the Minister of Economy, calling for an urgent resolution of the matter.

In the letter sent by the Iran Shipping Association and Related Services, it was emphasized that the issues arising at Shahid Rajaee Customs in Bandar Abbas have led to cargo accumulation and disruptions in economic activities. This national organization requested necessary actions to prevent further economic disturbances at the country’s ports.

The letter was referred to the Office of the First Vice President and reviewed by Dr. Aref. The First Vice President, emphasizing the urgency of resolving the issue, issued a directive to Dr. Hemmati, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, stating:
“Take the necessary actions immediately to resolve the issue and report the outcome.”

The urgent order to address this matter reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the private sector, facilitating trade, and strengthening the maritime transport industry. It is expected that with the necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, existing obstacles will be removed, improving the cargo clearance process at ports. This will help protect the national economy from the negative impacts of delays and rising transportation costs.
