TEHRAN (Sea News) – The Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued an official message addressed to the captains of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and regional waters, announcing the full readiness of Iranian ports to provide general maritime services, technical support, and medical assistance.

According to the report, all vessels transiting regional waters—particularly those stationed in Iran’s territorial waters and anchorages—can access services including provisions, bunkering (fuel), health and medical services, and authorized repair spare parts as needed.

The Ports and Maritime Organization emphasized that this initiative is part of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s sovereign responsibilities regarding maritime safety and the provision of port services. It underscores the country’s full readiness to support the safe and sustainable passage of commercial ships in one of the world’s most strategic waterways.

The message is being broadcast via maritime telecommunication networks and regional VHF systems three times a day for three consecutive days.

The text of the broadcasted message to all shipmasters and owners is as follows:

“In the interest of seafarers’ welfare and to maintain the safety and seaworthiness of vessels, all shipmasters and owners are hereby informed that they can avail themselves of general maritime services, including provisions and fuel, as well as medical services and authorized technical supplies.

To receive these services, all captains and owners may contact the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) centers of the nearest Iranian port or their local agents via VHF Channel 16 to declare their requirements.”
