The chairman of the Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce said that another $10 billion of Iran’s frozen assets will be released in the near future.
Of the total $23 billion worth of Iranian assets overseas, about $6 billion has been collected from South Korea, Majid Reza Hariri said.
Speaking in a radio interview on Monday, Hariri added that a part of these assets includes the currency reserves (FOREX) of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) and another part is related to the revenues from the sales of oil, gas, etc that have not so far been collected.
After the re-imposition of sanctions against the country in 2019, about €22 billion of CBI’s reserves, which had been reserved at foreign banks, were transferred to the Republic of China, he further noted.
