Iran to Dispatch 30 Commercial Envoys Overseas by Yearend: TPOI

An official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said that 30 commercial envoys will be dispatched to foreign countries by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2024).
As many as 30 commercial attaches are plannd to be sent overseas by the end of the current Persian calendar year, the head of the TPOI’s Department of Commercial Attaches stated, adding that two female commercial envoys will be dispatched overseas for the first time.

Speaking to Mehr news agency on Saturday, Mohammad Rajabnejad pointed out that the experts from four ministries including oil, economy, agriculture and industry can enroll their names as commercial envoys.

The official put the current number of Iran’s commercial attaches at 17, saying they have been sent to Iraq, Oman, China, Armenia, India, Qatar, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Belarus, Russia, Kenya, Algeria, Turkey, Kazakhstan, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Uzbekistan.

Planning is underway to send the commercial envoys to Serbia, Brazil and Pakistan, he said, adding that these commercial attaches will soon be deployed in the aforementioned countries.

Iran’s first female commercial attaché was dispatched to Kazakhstan while the second female commercial envoy will be sent to the Republic of Armenia in the near future.

Sending commercial envoys to Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Hungary, Poland, Syria and Saudi Arabia has been put on the agenda of the organization, Rajabnejad added.
